Virtual, New Brunswick January 1 - December 31, 2021
According to a recent study conducted by Léger Marketing, since the start of the Pandemic in March 2020, 32% of Canadians have put on weight. The study also indicates that 44% exercised less and 46% ate or maybe drank more. That is a recipe for serious health problems.
RunNB wants to counter that trend and help keep runners active, fit and involved in our sport during Covid-19. Virtual races on our calendar aim to reach that goal but they fail to attract a large % of our running community. The RunNB Committee has given some thoughts to this worrying trend and has decided to offer a running/walking challenge that may interest the competitive as well as the recreational runners or walkers.
It’s called the 2021RunNB Challenge, a way to show our resilience in the face of adversity. Runners and walkers are strong, healthy, determined and usually up to a challenge. Here’s a chance to show their strength and determination.
On a 12-month period, runners and walkers will have to tally about 100 km/month or 25 km /week in order to complete the challenge.
Registration fee is set at $50. * Each runner/walker who registers for the 2021 RunNB Challenge will receive a free one-year RunNB membership card, $30 value. The RunNB membership card offers social and financial benefits that are detailed on the RunNB website.
