  • Description du parcours : The Hampton 5 Miler is a loop course that starts on a slight incline on Saint Paul's Street. Within a few hundred metres the route turns a sharp left onto Elizabeth Ave. past Hampton High School. This is followed shortly by a two sharp rights which take you on to Main Street. Main Street section is ~500M of straight flat with a slight incline at the end turning sharp right over the steel railway bridge onto Kennebecasis River Road. This portion of the course is undulating as you pass Mile #1 and continues to the beautiful St. Pauls Church at the 1.5 mile point where the only substantial hill on the course is located. The hill is short and steep, but you are warmed up by this point which makes it easy. At the top of the hill, you are rewarded with the first water stop and the most picturesque view on this spectacular course as you overlook the Hampton Marsh and the hills beyond. The next mile is primarily downhill and fairly flat, and then you make a sharp right turn to join Main Street near the Hampton Legion. A slight uphill brings you to Mile #3 and the second water stop. Another slight incline continues along Main Street, and then the course undulates as you pass Hampton Middle School and the Fire Station. A little reprieve now as you head downhill past the Hampton Arena and continue along a slight decline which levels out as you approach Mile #4. After you've crossed the railway tracks, you reach the last water station by the Town Square. The course then takes a sharp right at the traffic circle, and it is flat, straight and fast for the final mile until you take another sharp right at Elizabeth Ave., crossing the railway tracks and making a small S turn, left and right, into the Hampton High School driveway. A final 100 metre dash straight up a very slight incline to the finish line - and you've earned the right to say that you've done the Hampton 5-Miler!
