The Hampton 5 miler will be offering a new model in 2023.
This year there is a 8km and a 15km race on offer for Sunday, September 10, 2023. Both races based out of Hampton High School.
The Hampton race weekend will also offer youth races on the Saturday (September 9) before the main races. The youth races have been vital to making our event - a community celebration in active living. The Youth event will be hosted at the Hampton Elementary School and will be run on the running trials behind the school and on the field. This will be similar to the school cross country races. There will a 1.0 km and a 2.5 km race offered for elementary and middle school runners, as well as a 4km event for high school runners. Fee is just $3.00 for these youth events. No online Registration for the youth events - Race day registration only for the youth events.
The 5 miler (aka 8km) will be feature the proven course that the race has used for two decades. This year the race will offer a 15km (2-times the fun) for those looking for something different. There will be a different starting line location for the 15km. Which is the High School parking lot. There will be two water stations on along the loop (15km-ers will have 4 chances to hydrate)
Youth Race Registration is from 9:00 to 9:45 am Saturday September 9, 2023, Front doors of Hampton Elementary School. races start at 10:00 am - we should be wrapped up by noon.
15km start will be at 9:00 am. Location: Hampton High School.
8km start will be at 9:30 am . Location: Hampton High School
Registration for the 8km and 15km available online now! There is a late Registration option $30 is the late fee- come to Hampton elementary School where the youth races are being staged between 9:00 and noon Saturday September 9
Awards for top 3 male and female for both the 8km and 15km events
Medals for all runners of the 1km and 2.5km on Saturday.
Medals for the top finisher of the High School race 4km race. * race will also be a NBIAA Cross Country event to count towards high schoolers required to run 2 races before the NBIAA SW & NE Regionals
Race proceeds to support the Hampton Cross-Country programming as well as Hampton High and Middle School athletics and Theatre company.
To help us lower the price point from previous years (in fact lower than most races) there are no T-shirts this year.
Coffee, fruit, bagels, gatorade, water will be on hand.
* Please no strollers or dogs on leash for safety purposes.
